Romanian passport exhibition to open at National History Museum
Temporary exhibition "March 19 - Romanian passport day. From the portable booklet of 1912 to the electronic passport, messenger of digital transformation" will open on Wednesday at the National Museum of Romanian History (MNIR).
During the exhibition, the public will discover a series of passports issued between 1912 and 1943, such as those printed during the reigns of kings Carol I and Michael, MNIR reported on Tuesday.
Also on display will be free passage tickets from 1925 and 1935 and other travel documents from 1951, a series of passports for Romanian citizens settled abroad, as well as passports for persons without citizenship issued in 1983 and 1984.
Diplomatic passports, temporary, simple or electronic, issued after 2000 will round up the exhibition.
The exhibition will be open throughout March 31, Wednesday to Sunday, from 09:00hrs to 17:00hrs (until March 30) and from 10:00hrs to 18:00hrs on March 31.
The event is organised by the General Directorate for Passports with the Ministry of Internal Affairs, in partnership with the National Museum of Romanian History, to celebrate March 19, Romanian Passport Day, and 112 years since the promulgation of the country's Law on passports.
