Maria Ioana Constantin wins second slalom of the Balkan Alpine Skiing Cup, in Borsa
Romanian athlete Maria Ioana Constantin won the women's slalom event held on Wednesday, in the Balkan Alpine Skiing Cup in Borsa, Maramures county (northern Romania), after she had also prevailed in Tuesday's event, according to the Romanian Ski-Biathlon Federation.
Constantin was clocked with a time of 1 min 37 sec 92/100, being followed, as on Tuesday, by her compatriot Jennifer Barbara Nagy Remetean, at 2 sec 80/100, and by the Argentine Maria Belen Simari Birkner, at 3 sec 97/100.
Out of 25 skiers present at the start, 19 managed to finish the race.
The men's podium was also identical to that of Tuesday, the victory going to Australian Adam McHugh, in 1 min 30 sec 73/100, followed by the Bulgarian Kalin Zlatkov, at 43/100, and the Swedish Albin Henriksson, at 89/100.
Alexandru Stefan Stefanescu was the best ranked Romanian, in 16th place, 7 sec 18/100 of the winner.
64 skiers started the race, only 30 managing to finish it.
