Imagine din galeria Agerpres

On Bucovina Day, the massage needs to be one of unity - PM Nicolae Ciuca declared on Sunday, saying that this area's special beauty, its traditions that are still alive, the cultural values and the entire historic charge of these places "please our souls, are part of our identity as Romanians and represents us in front of the whole world".

"Today we mark 103 years since joining the land of Bucovina to the Romania Motherland, a historic act which predated in 1918, by only a few days, another soul moment for the Romanian people and the most important one in hour history, the Great Unity. After almost a century and a half of foreign occupation, Bucovina became once again, on November 28, 1918, an integral part of the Romanian land. Regardless of the political context, they continued to feel and to think in Romanian throughout the entire Bucovina area", according to the message sent by the Prime Minister.

According to him, the perseverance of people of culture and politics during that period, supported by the popular will, represents an example.

"Snatched without their will from the body of Moldova, by foreign powers during those times, the people of Bucovina continued to believe in their destiny, of returning to the old land, even if history kept them away from their Romanian brethren. The perseverance of people of culture and politics from that period, supported by the popular will, represents an example from which even today we would have something to learn from, regarding the roots that unite us all and which give us the power to overcome any obstacle, no matter how insurmountable it can seem for some", the PM also said.

Bucovina's special beauty, its traditions, that are still alive, cultural values and the entire historical charge of these places please our souls, are part of our identity as Romanians and represents us in front of the whole world - the head of the Government added.

"We have a holy duty to keep these values intact, from respect to our ancestors and in order to carry on the story of this cradle of historic Moldova. On Bucovina Day, the message needs to be one of unity. The context of the sanitary crisis forces us to take the best measures in order to get through this period. Together we can do it!", Nicolae Ciuca expressed. AGERPRES(RO - editor: Georgiana Tanasescu; EN - editor: Catalin Cristian Trandafir)
