CREART's 'iMapp Bucharest' project wins silver at Eventex 2026
The project 'iMapp Bucharest: From Enescu's Rhapsody to Gumball 3000's Global Stage', carried out by CREART - the Center for Creation, Art and Tradition of the Bucharest Municipality in collaboration with immersive-design company Mindscape and the partners of the iMapp Bucharest #10 anniversary edition, has won the Silver Trophy in the Art Event category at the Eventex Awards 2026.
'Bucharest receives a new international recognition in the events industry, after iMapp Bucharest earned the Silver Trophy in the 'Art Event' category at the Eventex Awards 2026, alongside major international productions such as the Milano Cortina Winter Games 2026 - ARMONIA Olympic Opening Ceremony and the Sziget Festival 2025,' CREART said in a press release.
The 2026 edition was the most competitive in the award's history, with 1,405 entries from 58 countries, evaluated by an independent jury of industry leaders. Founded in 2009, the Eventex Awards is regarded as the world's most prestigious distinction for creativity and innovation in events and experiential marketing, recognizing top agencies, events, tech solutions and venues each year.
On the 566th anniversary of Bucharest, the world's largest projection surface - 23,000 square metres - was transformed on September 20 - 21, 2025 into 'a vibrant multimedia spectacle' where Romanian heritage and global pop culture intertwined, drawing 200,000 people to an 'immersive urban experience'.

On September 20, 2025, during 'iMapp Bucharest - Winners League', themed 'Art is All Around', CREART paid tribute to the Romanian cultural heritage: projections dedicated to Constantin Brancusi and George Enescu, designed by Carmen Lidia Vidu and Mindscape Studio with support from the Romanian Cultural Institute and Artexim for the European Heritage Days, were showcased on the façade.
A performance by DJ HVMZA, combined with video projections by Dorel Naste (Mindscape Studio) and mixed live by Bogdan Nedelcu (Apart Vision), created 'a magnificent show'. A standout moment was the collaboration between HVMZA and maestro Gheorghe Zamfir, 'an artistic encounter linking tradition and innovation, electronic music and the unmistakable sound of the pan flute'.
On September 21, at 'iMapp Bucharest X Gumball 3000', the Romanian capital served as the official host of the 26th edition of the Gumball 3000 rally, which brought more than 100 supercars driven by celebrities, influencers and athletes from over 40 countries.
A member of the International Light Festivals Organisation (ILO), iMapp Bucharest won an AV Award in London in 2020 in the AV in Action category. As part of the 'Enlightenment' global solidarity campaign for peace initiated by Borealis (U.S.) and Maxin10sity (Hungary), with contributions from 35 visual artists and projections in 75 cities worldwide - the competition also received a Telly Award in 2023. Since 2019, iMapp Bucharest has evolved 'into a League of Winners, becoming the glue of the global video-mapping scene'.
