Over 4,000 researchers from 50 countries are taking part from 4 to 6 June in the 15th edition of the 'Agriculture for Life, Life for Agriculture' International Conference, hosted by the University of Agronomic Sciences and Veterinary Medicine (USAMV) of Bucharest. The event is regarded as one of the most important scientific forums dedicated to agriculture, horticulture, veterinary medicine, animal science, biotechnology, the environment and life sciences.

'This year's edition brings together more than 4,000 authors and co-authors from 50 countries across five continents, with the 1,000 most valuable scientific papers selected for presentation. This confirms the role of the University of Agronomic Sciences and Veterinary Medicine of Bucharest as a significant academic and scientific hub in the international debate on the future of agriculture and agri-food systems. In a global context marked by major challenges including food security, climate change, ecosystem health, digitalisation and the transition towards sustainable production models, the conference highlights research directions that are at the centre of the international agenda: precision agriculture, satellite-based Earth observation, digital intelligence applied to agriculture, the bioeconomy, biotechnology, the One Health concept, the sustainability of food systems and smart rural development,' the university said in a press release.

According to the institution, the conference features a number of distinguished international guests, including Professor Abigail S. Borron of the University of Georgia, a specialist in agricultural communication, extension and knowledge transfer, Professor Samantha Wisely of the University of Florida, an expert in ecosystem health and biodiversity, Professor Deodato Tapete of the Italian Space Agency, a specialist in Earth observation and remote sensing applied to agriculture, and Professor Cesare Gargioli of the University of Rome Tor Vergata, a researcher in biotechnology and bioinnovation.

The programme includes two international plenary sessions, seven thematic scientific sections, workshops, poster sessions and technical visits, providing participants with opportunities for collaboration, exchange of expertise and the development of new research projects.

An important feature of the conference is the opportunity for the most valuable papers to be published in the scientific journals of the University of Agronomic Sciences and Veterinary Medicine of Bucharest, which are indexed in international databases such as Web of Science and Scopus, thereby contributing to greater research visibility and stronger international academic cooperation.
