Romania to be promoted in several capitals worldwide through international tour organized by Charlie Ottley
Starting January 29, Romania will be promoted in several capitals around the world through an international tour of screenings and cultural events organized by British writer and producer Charlie Ottley, creator of the series Wild Carpathia and Flavours of Romania. The initiative is carried out in collaboration with the Ministry of Economy, Digital Transformation, Entrepreneurship and Tourism (MEDAT) and with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, MEDAT said in a release.
The tour features screenings of the successful production Flavours of Romania, currently available on Netflix Romania, in countries including Thailand, Malaysia, Chile, Peru, Colombia and the United Kingdom. Its aim is to showcase Romania's beauty and diversity to an international audience of government representatives, opinion leaders and travel agencies, contributing to stronger international ties and the promotion of Romanian tourism.
The events are organized in partnership with Romanian embassies in the respective countries and include a 75-minute film with selections from seasons 2 and 3 of Flavours of Romania, dedicated to the country's nine historical regions. Screenings are accompanied by presentations and Q&A sessions with Charlie Ottley and his partner Oana Mihai, followed by networking and gastronomic promotion.

In his turn, Charlie Ottley noted that misconceptions about Romania persist abroad, and the best way to counter them is to travel and show people what an extraordinary country this is.
He said that he and his partner had already planned to travel to several countries to visit friends and family and, following discussions with the Ministry of Economy, Digital Transformation, Entrepreneurship and Tourism, decided to organize screenings in each capital on their route. He expressed hope that the initiative will help showcase Romania's attractiveness to international audiences, stimulate tourism, encourage closer cooperation and dispel lingering misconceptions about the country.
