Drone crash in Galati/MAI: Public order structures remain mobilised in Galati
Public order structures remain mobilised in the municipality of Galati, in the area where a drone hit an apartment block, the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MAI) announced on Friday.
According to a MAI release, police officers and gendarmes act under the coordination of the case prosecutor together with partners from the Romanian Intelligence Service (SRI) and the National Defence Ministry (MApN).
The MAI staff were on duty since the first emergency calls to 112 were received. The incident was reported via the single emergency number 112 at 01:59.
One minute later, at 02:00, forces from the County Police Inspectorate and the Galati County Gendarmerie Inspectorate were alerted and directed to the building as a first response measure, with eight police crews deployed in order to ensure specific security measures.
The first crew arrived at the scene of the incident at 02:05, and at 02:18 mixed search and rescue teams were formed and the evacuation of people from the affected building began.
The MAI mentioned that at 02:35 the reinforcement of the public order deployment in the area was ordered with gendarmerie forces from the Galati County Gendarmerie Inspectorate.
At 02:50, the leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs ordered the deployment to Galati of a team of forensic and explosives specialists from the Romanian Police - the National Institute of Forensics (INC), as well as experts within the Criminal Investigations Directorate.
At this moment, in addition to ensuring specific public order measures, the MAI structures are conducting investigations, under the coordination of the prosecutor, for airspace violation, destruction and attempted murder. AGERPRES (RO - writing by: Eusebi Manolache; EN - writing by: Rodica State)
