'Score of a Life: George Enescu in Rare Documents' exhibition at National Library of Romania
The exhibition titled 'Score of a Life: George Enescu in Rare Documents', conceived as a tribute brought by the National Library of Romania, in its capacity as keeper of the national spiritual memory, to the great composer and musician George Enescu, brings to the public a unique selection of scores, photographs and original manuscripts, the National Library said in a release.
The rich collection of scores on display is representative of Enescu's work, including the Piano Reduction of the Oedipe Opera, a document bearing the composer's autographed dedication to conductor Alfred Alessandrescu; also showcased is a set of previously unpublished letters and photographs.
The exhibition is open to the public from August 26 to September 19, Tuesday through Sunday from 11:00 to 17:00, in the 'Jeni Acterian' Hall.
In the spirit of the celebration of the memory and work of the great Romanian personality, the National Library will also host in the Pocket 1 section the exhibition 'The Life and Artistic Activity of George Enescu', the result of a fruitful collaboration with the George Enescu Museum, the cited source also informs.
