As many as 1,672,308 Romanian citizens have showed up to the polling stations in the second round of the presidential elections on Sunday, representing 9.30% of the total number of voters on the electoral lists, according to data provided in real time by the Permanent Electoral Authority (AEP).

As many as 1,275,925 voters voted in urban areas, and 396,383 voters in rural areas.

A number of 641 voters used the mobile ballot box.

Of the 1,672,308 voters who voted by 9:00 am, 915,430 voted in the country, namely 5.09%, and 756,878 voted abroad, respectively 753,739 on additional lists and 3,139 by mail. Voting in the diaspora takes place starting Friday (7:00 am, local time) and ends Sunday (9:00 pm, Romania time).

In the Capital City Bucharest, the voter turnout is 5.49%,
