Italian ambassador to Oradea: We have an excellent bilateral partnership, which can develop

Italy and Romania have an excellent bilateral partnership, which can develop within the European Union, declared on Saturday, in Oradea, the ambassador of the Italian Republic, Alfredo Durante Mangoni.
'We have an excellent strategic partnership and we cannot talk about problems, but rather about opportunities, to strengthen this bilateral collaboration. Especially under the umbrella of the European Union, we can do more together to develop our collaboration,' the Italian diplomat stated for AGERPRES.
The Italian ambassador participated in the Oradea Citadel in the first edition of the Italian Celebration dedicated to the National Day - June 2, organized by the 'Italiani in Bihor' Association.
'I would like to emphasize once again the importance of the Festa Italiana in Oradea. The community of the Association of Italians in Bihor demonstrates a model of action in the community and in civil society in general. We want to collaborate, to continue working with local authorities and civil society, beyond political or religious affiliations. We want to strengthen our historical friendship and our alliance', Alfredo Durante Mangoni stated for AGERPRES.
The meeting with the Italians from the county was attended by local authorities, Italian councilors from Timis, Arad and Cluj, businessmen, volunteers who support the activities of the association and partners in various actions that the association has been carrying out for six years. Also present were three bishops from Oradea: Sofronie Drincec (Orthodox), Virgil Bercea (Greek Catholic) and Bocskei Laszlo (Roman Catholic).
The president of the Italian Association of Bihor, Giuseppe Totti, stated that through the Festa Italiana, an event that takes place for three days in the city, the Italian community wants to be better known in order to integrate more into Oradea society.
Sub-prefect Emilian Pavel, a former MEP, highlighted the contribution of the city's Italians to community life. 'We should thank you for enriching our community - Oradea is a developed multi-ethnic and confessional community - and because Italians, in general, contribute a lot to this,' the sub-prefect said.
During the ceremony, diplomas for their contribution to the Romanian-Italian relationship were awarded to the three bishops of Oradea, as well as to an Italian entrepreneur from the city, Gino Tonello, who has been running a thermal technology business for 26 years.
The first-ever Festa Italiana takes place from June 6 to 8 in the Oradea Citadel. The celebration brings the authentic charm of Italy to the heart of the city, with visitors invited to discover the flavor of Italian cuisine, participate in activities for children, and enjoy shows with special guests from Italy.
The event dedicated to Italian culture, music and gastronomy is organized by the 'Italiani in Bihor' Association with the support of the Association for the Promotion of Tourism in Oradea and the Region (Visit Oradea), the Oradea City Hall and the Italian Embassy in Bucharest.
