Projects worth more than 63 M euros to integrate the young with the labour market

Over 63 million euros are pre-contracted or already contracted for the development of projects dedicated to supporting the integration of young people into the labour market, the Ministry of Labour, Family, Youth and Social Solidarity (MMFTSS) informs in a post published on Friday on the institution's Facebook page.
According to the same source, through the National Employment Agency (ANOFM), concrete measures will be implemented for the training and integration of young people into the labour market, adapted to the current requirements of the economy.
Thus, within the Education and Employment Programme 2021-2027 (PEO), ANOFM benefits from an allocation of approximately one billion euros intended for institutional modernisation to meet the new requirements of the labour market, facilitating access to jobs for people in difficulty and supporting young people in the process of vocational training and career guidance.
Currently, 32 projects worth over 63 million euros are under pre-contracting/contracting under Priority 2, through which approximately 51,000 young people will receive personalized support and youth networks will be developed to provide education, training, counseling, coaching, mentoring and tutoring services. 'The action particularly targets young people in the NEETs category - who are not employed and not following any education or training programme,' the ministry said.
'Young people represent our potential for the future. Through these investments, we ensure that no young person is left behind. We offer them direction, support and real opportunities to integrate into the labour market, through education, training and counseling adapted to their needs and current economic realities. According to Eurostat data, the youth unemployment rate has decreased from 19.4% to 11% in just one year. But we must continue to work so that these young people have attractive jobs,' minister Simona Bucura-Oprescu said in the post.
The projects are implemented in partnership with entities specialized in youth services, higher education institutions and organizations involved in developing youth skills. AGERPRES (RO - writing by: Daniel Badea, EN - writing by: Cristina Zaharia)
