Almost 33 million RON in revenue from hunting activities and sale of forest products (Romsilva)

The revenues of the National Forest Administration - Romsilva from the sale of berries, truffles, mushrooms and medicinal plants, as well as from hunting and fish farming activities amounted to about 33 million RON (6.6 million EUR) by the end of November 2024, according to data provided by the administrator of the state-owned forests.
Thus, the highest revenues realized until the end of November this year from non-wood products were generated from the sale of consumer pulp, namely 350 tonnes, worth 10.045 million RON.
The hunting activities also had an important contribution, as the hunting activities carried out on the cynegetic funds managed by the National Forest Administration and in the hunting grounds owned by the institution brought more than 4.693 million RON, and the game meat, respectively 97 tonnes, generated other revenues of about 1.337 million RON.
Last but not least, Romsilva received over 2.143 million RON from the sale of 31,474 live pheasants.
The sale of berries, such as rosehip, sea buckthorn, raspberries, blueberries, brought a surplus of 5.407 million RON for a delivered quantity of 738 tonnes, and the proceeds from the sale of medicinal plants (681 tonnes) amounted to 4.086 million RON.
The quantity of truffles sold, through the transfer of the harvesting right, from the state forests administered by Romsilva amounted to 38 tonnes by the end of November this year, worth 4.740 million RON, while the quantity of mushrooms, porcini mushrooms and chanterelle mushrooms, respectively 98 tonnes, registered revenues of 247,150 RON.
Romsilva manages 212 hunting funds, owns 27 directly productive trout fisheries, as well as three pheasant farms in Gherghita, Pischia and Ghimpati.
The general director of RNP, Marius-Dan Siiulescu, told a press conference in December, that the company will end 2024 with a profit, even though the timber market has recorded a permanent decrease in the selling price.
