The soldiers injured in the explosion that took place on Monday at the ammunition destruction range in Botosani will be transferred by an aircraft belonging to the Romanian Air Force to a hospital in Belgium.

According to a press release from the Ministry of National Defense sent to AGERPRES, the two soldiers injured following the incident that occurred on Monday at the ammunition destruction range in Botosani are hospitalized, hemodynamically stable, at the Botosani County Emergency Hospital and are to be transferred by an aircraft belonging to the Romanian Air Force to the 'Queen Astrid' Military Hospital in Brussels, Belgium.

Corporal First Class Dan Florin Daniliuc, 36 years old, has burns on the surface of his body, is intubated and mechanically ventilated. He has been employed by the Ministry of National Defense since 2009.

The second wounded soldier, Major Andrei Anton, aged 31, has burns on the surface of his body, is intubated and mechanically ventilated. The soldier has been working within the Ministry of National Defense since 2023, the statement said.

An explosion followed by a fire occurred on Monday at a military unit in the municipality of Botosani.

'Crews belonging to the Botosani Fire Department, namely three fire trucks, two SMURD ambulances, one of which is a mobile intensive care SMURD ambulance, and an SAJ ambulance, arrived at the scene. They found that the fire was spreading over an area of approximately 50 square meters. According to initial information, two people were injured. The CBRN crews of the Suceava ISU were also requested to provide support,' representatives of the Botosani ISU previously stated.
