Deputy PM Predoiu awarded the International Public Service Award at 2025 Alliance Gala in Washington, D.C.
Romanian Deputy Prime Minister Catalin Predoiu has been awarded the International Public Service Award at the 2025 Alliance Gala, held Friday at the Willard InterContinental Hotel in Washington, D.C.
The award honours his contribution to good governance, justice reform, and strengthening the strategic relationship between Romania and the United States.
The award recognises a career spanning over three decades in public service, in which Catalin Predoiu distinguished himself by promoting the rule of law and the independence of the judiciary. During his terms as Minister of Justice, he coordinated the modernisation of the Romanian judicial system, aligning it with European standards by increasing transparency, strengthening anti-corruption mechanisms, and introducing digital solutions aimed at improving access to justice.
The Alliance is a national non-profit organisation in the United States, dedicated to strengthening cultural, economic and security ties between Romania and the United States. The annual Alliance Gala is its flagship event, bringing together political leaders, diplomats and representatives of the civil society to celebrate achievements that strengthen the Romanian-American partnership, according to the website https://www.alianta.org.
