The 'Onirius' contemporary dance, stage poetry and immersive projection performance, conceived by Gigi Caciuleanu on music by Paul Ilea and projections by Les Ateliers Nomad, which amplify the dreamlike dimension of the show, will premiere on Thursday at the Museum of Immersive New Art (MINA) at 20:00, according to the George Enescu International Festival website.

Performers on stage include Lari Giorgescu (Neunul), Ana Iacob (Anima) and Bogdan Iacob (Animus).

'The journey of each of us toward our other half truly begins at the moment... of separation. When the sphere in which, like in the little nest imagined by Plato, the couple was meant to live in an eternal embrace, is broken. And the two, thrown into the world, each with and toward their own fate. From this moment, the search begins. To succeed, one must overcome obstacles, confrontations with others, with the elements, with personal phantoms... Driven by the magic wand of a malevolent, omnipresent Joker, possessing countless faces. A kind of ‘tester' with whom, in one form or another, at one time or another, we all come face to face: ‘NEUNUL'[NON-ONE]. When, like in fairy tales with dragons and fairies, the two find each other again, from the horizon emerges ‘ONIRIUS' - a 'planet' that becomes a natural and long-awaited refuge. A sphere where they are certain to rediscover the warmth of that primordial embrace they nearly lost. Onirius offers a parable - at times a forked path, at times an interwoven one of initiatory journeys. A series of trials at the end of which it's not just about finding one's other half but also about rediscovering oneself. The Latvian Radio Choir (LRC) is a renowned and award-winning ensemble of professional singers, acclaimed for its exceptional versatility and unmistakable 'Nordic sound'. Over the past two decades, the choir has developed a distinct identity, likened to a multi-layered instrument that blends individual vocal timbres into a unique and harmonious sound.

The Philharmonia Orchestra of London returns to the Palace Hall in Bucharest, as part of the Enescu Festival, for a new concert conducted by Santtu-Matias Rouvali, with Alexandra Dariescu playing the piano.

The programme of the evening includes: George Enescu - Fantasy for Piano and Orchestra; Dmitri Shostakovich - Symphony No. 7 in C major, op. 60 (Leningrad).

The Ad Libitum Quartet - Remus Azoitei (violin I), Serban Mereuta (violin II), Bogdan Bisoc (viola), Filip Papa (cello) - and Sina Kloke (piano), will perform at the Mihai Eminescu Central University Library/Student Culture House on Thursday at 19:00.

The event programme features: George Enescu - String Quartet No. 2 in G major, op. 22; Dmitri Shostakovich - String Quartet No. 8 in C minor, op. 110; Johannes Brahms - Piano Quintet in F minor, op. 34.

The National Chamber Orchestra of the Republic of Moldova will perform at the 'Sergiu T. Chiriacescu' Aula Magna of the Transilvania University in Brasov, at 19:00. The conductor is Cristian Florea, and Ilian Garnet will perform on violin.

Programme: George Enescu - Prelude on a Unison Theme from Suite No. 1, op. 9; Benjamin Britten - Variations on a Theme of Frank Bridge, op. 10; Giuseppe Tartini/Fritz Kreisler - Devil's Trill Sonata; Georges Bizet/Franz Waxman - Carmen Fantasy for Violin and Orchestra; Constantin Rusnac - Sarbatoreasca.

The Belcea Quartet and Leonkoro Quartet will perform at the Auditorium Maximum Hall in Cluj-Napoca on Thursday at 19:00.

The programme includes: Felix Mendelssohn - Four Pieces for String Quartet, op. 81 (nos. 3 and 4); Ludwig van Beethoven - String Quartet No. 16 in F major, op. 135; George Enescu - Octet in C major for Strings, op. 7.

The 27th edition of the George Enescu International Festival is taking place in Bucharest and across the country until 21 September. This year's theme is 'Celebrations', marking 70 years since the death of the great composer.
