Bolojan: NATO has military scenarios in place for any security situation

NATO has military scenarios in place for any security situation that may affect the respective countries, including those in the Eastern Flank, interim President Ilie Bolojan said on Monday.
'There are, let's say, these strategic plans, which are devised by NATO, including by the Romanian Army,' he said on Digi 24 private television broadcaster.
Bolojan brought to mind that France is designated as the framework nation for the defence of Romania, with troops in Romania and providing support for the NATO system.
'France is present in Romania today, it is an important support for our country through what it does, through the collaboration we have had, so the issue is either an increase in the contribution of European countries under the current security arrangement, which means that not much will change, which has been proven to work so far and we have had 80 years of peace, with an extraordinary role of the United States, or, in the second hypothesis, a takeover of additional responsibility by European countries, not just those in the European Union, but certainly the United Kingdom and the other countries as well,' the interim president pointed out.
