Roxana Minzatu's first official visit to Romania as Executive Vice-President of European Commission

Bucharest, Jan 30 /Agerpres/ - Roxana Minzatu,  the European Commission's Executive Vice-President for Social Rights and Skills, Quality Jobs and Preparedness, will travel to Bucharest on February 3 - 4, this being Minzatu's first official visit in this capacity, the European Commission's representation office in Romania announced on Thursday in a press release.

On Monday, February 3, Minzatu will meet with the Prime Minister of Romania, Marcel Ciolacu, the Minister of Investments and European Projects, Marcel Bolos, the Minister of Labour, Family, Youth and Social Solidarity, Simona Bucura-Oprescu, the Minister of Education and Research, Daniel David, and the Head of the Department for Emergency Situations, Raed Arafat.

According to the said release, the discussions will address the main priorities of the new European Commission, including in the areas of employment, social rights and EU-funded educational programmes in Romania, as well as preparedness for crisis situations.

On Tuesday, February 4, the Executive Vice-President Minzatu will meet with the President of Romania, Klaus Iohannis, and will also hold talks with the President of the Romanian Senate, Ilie Bolojan, and the President of the Chamber of Deputies, Ciprian Constantin.

The official visit will include a visit to the 'Harap-Alb' Centre in Bucharest, an integrated social services unit for children with disabilities, co-financed by the European Social Fund. AGERPRES(RO - editor: Gabriela Ionescu; EN - editor: Bogdan Gabaroi)
