Over 600 Erasmus+ students to participate in Erasmus Generation Summit in Rasnov
Over 600 Erasmus+ students will participate in the Erasmus Generation Summit workshops in Rasnov, on October 25, an event organised by Erasmus Student Network (ESN) Romania and Europe Direct Centre Rasnov, with the support of the "Peter Thal" Secondary School and the Town Hall.
The organisers propose 10 workshops held in parallel, in different places in the city, the programme of the event ranging from a guided tour in the garden of the Rasnov Castle, treasure-hunt and pumpkin carving workshop, to film screenings, quizzes with prizes, role-playing games about how decisions are made in the EU.
The "Innovation Education Lab" Association will also give presentations on volunteering opportunities through the European Solidarity Corps: how easy it is to access this programme if you are a young European, how it can open your horizons and how much financial support you get through the ESC to have these personal development experiences while helping local communities.
"The event aims to offer young people a context for socialising, intercultural exchange, exploring Romania's natural and cultural heritage, but also an opportunity to learn more about how democracy works in the European Union and how young people can get more involved in shaping the future of the EU," reads a Europe Direct Rasnov press release.
Throughout the event there will be available for participants, in 2 Europe Direct info-points in Rasnov, informational materials about European opportunities for young people, the source mentioned.
The participants are students enrolled in the Erasmus+ study programme from Romania, European Union countries, as well as from Türkiye, Serbia, Norway and other participating third countries.
The latest report, from 2023, shows that during 2022 alone, more than 1.2 million participants benefited from learning and mobility experiences through 26,000 projects funded under the Erasmus+ programme.
Erasmus Generation Summit 2024 is part of the event "Halloween in Transylvania," organised annually in Romania by ESN Romania. This year the third edition will take place, with visits to Bran Castle, Peles Castle and Cantacuzino Castle, as well as to Brasov.
