Biathlon: Romania wins silver medal at European Biathlon Championships in Slovakia
Romanian athlete Dmitrii Shamaev won on Saturday the silver medal at the European Biathlon Championships in Brezno-Osrblie (Slovakia), in the men's 12.5 km pursuit event, according to a press release issued by the Romanian Ski-Biathlon Federation.
Shamaev, an athlete of Russian origin, finished the race in second place, after Norwegian Isak Frey, the podium being completed by French Antonin Guigonnat.
Romania participates with nine athletes at the European Biathlon Championships in Brezno-Osrblie (Slovakia): five men (Dmitrii Shamaev, Cornel Puchianu, Raul Flore, George Buta and George Coltea) and four women (Anastasia Tolmacheva, Elena Chirkova, Andreea Mezdrea and Adelina Rimbeu).
