Over 260 teams from 34 countries will compete in the fifth edition of ROBOFEST, Europe's largest robotics event, taking place from 30 October to 1 November at the Politehnica Bucharest National University of Science and Technology.

For three days, the university campus will once again be transformed into a space where robots compete, technology becomes a spectacle and young engineering enthusiasts put their ideas into practice, according to a press release of the Politehnica Bucharest National University of Science and Technology.

'ROBOFEST is where a passion for robotics meets performance, creativity and competitive spirit. The event brings together school pupils, university students, researchers, professionals and technology enthusiasts in a world where mechanics, electronics, programming and artificial intelligence are transformed into robots capable of competing, tackling challenges and surprising audiences,' the press release reads.

One of the festival's main highlights is RoboChallenge, the international robotics competition now in its 17th edition, which over the years has turned ROBOFEST into a landmark event in the field.

At the 2025 edition, the event brought together more than 1,200 participants from around 30 countries. This year, more than 1,500 participants from 34 countries will compete, with over 1,300 robots facing off in 20 established events and two new ones over the two days of competition.

According to the organisers, visitors will also be able to attend technology demonstrations and discover projects and applications showcasing how robotics and artificial intelligence are changing the world. AGERPRES (RO - writing by: Roberto Stan; EN - writing by: Adina Panaitescu)
