The commemorative volume 'REGINA - a volume in honour of the architect of Greater Romania', dedicated to the exceptional figure of Queen Marie, and published under the High Patronage of the President of Romania, will be launched at the Cotroceni National Museum on Tuesday, Romania Student Tour said in a press release sent to AGERPRES on Friday.

The event marks the 100th anniversary of Queen Marie's historic visit to North America, regarded as one of the most important diplomatic and cultural missions undertaken by the Romanian state in the 20th century.

'Through her intelligence, courage and vision, Queen Marie became a symbol of Romanian diplomacy and an outstanding advocate of national interests, making a decisive contribution to Romania's recognition on the international stage,' the press release says.

The 256-page volume brings together period photographs and contemporary works by 57 established photographers and winners of the Fotogeografica National Photography Competition, offering an original perspective on the cultural, diplomatic and symbolic legacy left by the sovereign.

The book highlights the architecture of Greater Romania and the historical and cultural ties between Romania and the countries visited by Queen Marie. At the same time, the work forms part of a series of events marking the centenary of the visit, reaffirming the role of culture as an instrument of public diplomacy and the promotion of Romanian values internationally, the source said.

Through its documentary, artistic and educational value, 'REGINA' pays tribute to one of the most influential figures in Romanian history and invites readers to rediscover the spirit, courage and vision that contributed to the building of modern Romania, the statement adds.

Representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in Bucharest, honorary consuls, figures from the academic and cultural communities, representatives of higher education institutions, as well as young Romanians from the country and the diaspora, are expected to attend the event.

With a foreword by the President of Romania, the volume was produced by the Romania Student Tour team in cooperation with major heritage and cultural institutions, including the Cotroceni National Museum, the Romanian Academy Library, the National Archives of Romania, Peles National Museum, Bran National Museum, the National Museum of the Romanian Peasant and the Bucharest Students' Cultural Centre.
