Prime Minister-designate Siegfried Muresan announced that the Cabinet of ministers to be proposed for approval by Parliament would be presented on Friday, after the parties supporting him validate their ministerial nominations.

'This afternoon, the three parties - PNL [National Liberal Party], USR [Save Romania Union] and UDMR [Hungarian Democratic Union of Romania] - will validate their ministers within their statutory bodies and by the end of the day we will announce the full Cabinet of ministers,' Siegfried Muresan told Europa FM on Friday.

He reiterated that the Government he is proposing will have three deputy prime ministers with ministerial portfolios.

'There have been more up to now, but I have reduced their number to three, one from PNL, one from USR and one from UDMR, and each will have a portfolio. There will no longer be deputy prime ministers who do nothing, who merely take orders from their parties. Each deputy prime minister will head a ministry and will have work to do,' Muresan explained.

He declined to confirm or deny whether caretaker Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan would be one of the deputy prime ministers.

'I said I would neither confirm nor deny it, but I can tell you regarding Mr Bolojan that I greatly appreciate the good things he has done in Romania. We can all see them in Oradea and Bihor and we have also seen them in the Romanian Government. I am convinced that he will do many more good things for Romania in the coming years, regardless of the position he holds in the Romanian state,' Muresan added.
