Bucharest Days: Concerts, video mapping projections, and guided tours, Saturday and Sunday
Bucharest Days will be celebrated on Saturday and Sunday with concerts, performances, video mapping projections, guided tours, and debates.
The event marks 567 years since the city's first documentary attestation, the Capital's City Hall announced on Wednesday on its Facebook page.
The 11th edition of 'IMAPP Bucharest' will take place on Saturday at 9:30 PM, showcasing works by seven international video mapping winners. The façade of the Palace of the Parliament will transform into a massive screen for works combining digital art, music, and technology. This year's edition is themed 'Past. Forward.'
The screenings will be preceded at 8:00 PM by a concert featuring Rudimental, and the evening will also include a tribute to Nadia Comaneci with the screening of 'NADIA - The Perfect 10'.
On Sunday, starting at 4:00 PM, the entertainment will feature good music and a WhoMadeWho DJ set, the Bucharest City Hall added.
Calea Victoriei will once again become a pedestrian zone this Saturday and Sunday as part of the 'Open Streets' program. Sports activities, exhibitions, theater and circus performances, concerts, debates, and guided tours will take place.
'One of the special events will take place in front of the National Museum of Art of Romania, starting at 7:00 PM on both days. Sounds made by the audience will be transformed into melodies, and you can choose the winning one. Additionally, on Sunday at 8:00 PM at the National Military Circle, you can attend a show blending fashion, music, dance, and video projections, featuring stage outfits created by UNArte students from second-hand clothing,' the municipality further announced.
The Capital's City Hall headquarters will be open for free visits as part of four guided tours. These will take place on Saturday (between 16:00-17:00 and 17:00-18:00) and Sunday (between 12:00-13:00 and 13:00-14:00). On Sunday at 7:00 PM, the Dalles Hall will host 'D'alles Bucure?tilor de altadata' ('Dalles - Bucharest of Yesteryear'), an event featuring songs from the 1919-1939 period.
Also on Sunday, starting at 16:00, a piano and violin recital will be presented beneath the Arch of Triumph, featuring Romanian works and classical repertoire, as well as tango. Admission will be free.
The Arch of Triumph will also be open to visitors free of charge throughout the day, from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
The garden of the Filipescu-Cesianu House will host 'Weekend Sessions,' a two-day event with a Spanish theme.
