Senate's Abrudean: Romania-France relationship goes beyond the borders of a strategic partnership

Image

Senate President Mircea Abrudean sent a message on Tuesday on the occasion of France's National Day, highlighting that the relationship between Romania and France goes beyond the borders of a strategic partnership.

'14 July, France's National Day, is a moment that reminds us of the values that unite us: liberty, equality, fraternity. Romania-France relationship goes beyond the borders of a strategic partnership. It is a historic bond that has today become an essential collaboration for the security of NATO's Eastern Flank and is strengthened by a major economic component. France remains one of the main investors in Romania. Companies such as Dacia Renault, Engie and Orange are true generators of jobs and innovation for our national economy. As Senate President, at parliamentary diplomatic level I support this political, economic and security dialogue, which brings dynamism in a complex global context. Happy National Day, France! Vive la France!,' Mircea Abrudean wrote on his Facebook page.

France celebrates its National Day on Tuesday with a parade that will also be attended by Romania's President Nicusor Dan.

A guard of honour detachment of the 'Michael the Brave' 30th Guards Brigade is representing Romania this year at the Military Parade organised in Paris to mark the French Republic's National Day.

The guard of honour detachment is commanded by Major Valentin Stan, deputy commander of the 2nd Ceremonial, Military Honours and Intervention Battalion within the 'Michael the Brave' 30th Guards Brigade.

The last participation of servicemen from the 'Michael the Brave' 30th Guards Brigade in the Military Parade organised in Paris on the occasion of France's National Day took place in 2022.

In turn, French servicemen have taken part in recent years in the Military Parade organised in Bucharest to mark Romania's National Day. AGERPRES (RO - writing by: Andreea Rotaru; EN - writing by: Rodica State)
