President Nicusor Dan said on Monday, on the occasion of Children's Day, that the celebration represents more than a moment of joy - it is a commitment by society to create an environment in which every child is protected, respected and encouraged to follow their dreams.

'Children's Day is more than a celebration. It is a commitment we make, as a society, to build a Romania in which every child is protected, heard, respected and encouraged to pursue their dreams. Happy Children's Day to all! May you always have the confidence to follow your passions and the joy of discovering the world,' Nicusor Dan wrote on Facebook.

The president also highlighted the activities organized on June 1 at the Cotroceni Palace, where hundreds of children took part in educational workshops, creative and sports activities, reading sessions, theatre performances and civic debates.

'Today, on Children's Day, we celebrate the joy, curiosity, innocence and hope that children bring into our lives and into Romania's future. On June 1, Cotroceni Palace became a space for learning through play and for inspiring encounters. Hundreds of children joined educational workshops, creative and sports activities, reading sessions, theatre shows and civic debates. Through their enthusiasm and energy, children brought life to this symbolic place of democracy and dialogue. Whether they drew, read, or stepped on stage to deliver messages of inclusion and solidarity, children reminded us how important it is to invest in education, equal opportunities and a safe environment where everyone can reach their potential,' President Dan added.
