Romania-Italy Cultural Year/Brancusi Year/ Brancusi celebrated through multisensory experience at Romania's Embassy in Italy
The Romanian Embassy in Italy organized in Rome, on Tuesday, the event 'Origins of Infinity: The Olfactory Experience', a multisensory experience dedicated to the celebration of the 150th anniversary of the birth of sculptor Constantin Brancusi, included in the program of the Romania-Italy Cultural Year 2026.
Conceived as a dialogue between heritage and contemporary creation, the event offered the public a multisensory experience inspired by the artistic and spiritual universe of the great Romanian artist, according to a press release from the embassy released on Wednesday.
On this occasion, the perfume 'Origins of Infinity', created by an independent perfumer, was launched as a sensory extension of the international exhibition 'Constantin Brancusi: Origini dell'infinito', organized at the Mercati di Traiano museum in Rome.
The evening was opened by the Romanian Ambassador to Italy, Gabriela Dancau, and by the President of the Culture Committee of the Chamber of Deputies of the Italian Republic, Deputy Federico Mollicone, who highlighted the role of culture as a space for European dialogue and the consolidation of Romanian-Italian relations.
In her speech, Ambassador Gabriela Dancau emphasized the innovative nature of the project, which proposes a new way to experience cultural heritage, transforming the encounter with the work of art into a living, emotional and multisensory experience.
'Brancusi taught us that true art does not consist in the accumulation of forms, but in their liberation from everything that is excessive, until reaching the essence. His work does not seek the noise of the visible, but the profound silence of the absolute', stated the Romanian ambassador, evoking the relevance of Brancusi's work and its capacity to inspire contemporary forms of artistic expression.
