A series of events highlighting Romanian, Pakistani and Georgian cultures will be included in the 'European Night of Museums' organised on 23 May by the Buzau County Museum, with organisers announcing as a new feature an exhibition displaying part of the coins belonging to the Tezaurul de la Spataru (the Spataru Teasure).

The programme will include a 'night-time international cultural escape,' the opening of an exhibition of decorative textile art and the presentation of the Spataru Treasure.

Visitors will also have the opportunity to engage with the cultural and historical values of Georgia, in an event organised in collaboration with the Embassy of Georgia in Romania.

'For this year, the Buzau County Museum is collaborating with the Embassy of Georgia in Romania, offering the public in Buzau the opportunity to discover significant landmarks of Georgian cultural identity through three themed exhibitions: 'Georgia - cradle of wine', an exhibition dedicated to the tradition of wine production in Georgia; 'The living culture of three writing systems of the Georgian alphabet' an exhibition dedicated to the Georgian alphabet, one of the most important expressions of the country's cultural and historical identity; 'Georgia - stories of nature', a photographic exhibition of natural monuments in Georgia, aimed at bringing to public attention the beauty and diversity of its natural heritage. Georgia is a country with a rich history, renowned for the antiquity of its unique traditions in winemaking and polyphonic singing, as well as for the originality of its national alphabet and the richness of its natural and spiritual heritage,' the Buzau County Museum announced.

Furthermore, the cultural institution will collaborate with the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in Romania to organise a photography exhibition called 'Pakistan - story pages.'

As a new feature, organisers have announced for this year's edition an exhibition of 200 coins out of approximately 1,600 from the Spataru Treasure, discovered in the spring of 2020 on the territory of Costesti commune.
