TAROM temporarily suspends flights to Tel Aviv

Imagine din galeria Agerpres

The national air operator TAROM has temporarily suspended the operation of commercial flights to and from Tel Aviv (TLV), between February 28 and March 3, 2026, inclusive, after the Israeli authorities declared the temporary closure of Israel's airspace.

'The Israeli authorities have declared the temporary closure of Israeli airspace and Ben Gurion International Airport in Tel Aviv for civil flights, until March 3, 2026, a measure published through official NOTAMs A0195/26 and A0196/26. Under these conditions, regular commercial flights to and from Tel Aviv cannot operate. Consequently, the Romanian National Air Transport Company TAROM informs that it is temporarily suspending the operation of commercial flights to and from Tel Aviv (TLV), during the period February 28 - March 3, 2026, inclusive,' a company statement said.

The air operator also stated that it is permanently monitoring developments in Israel, in coordination with operational partners and relevant authorities, on multiple levels - security, airspace and airport operations, and will return with real-time updates.

'The safety of passengers and crews is TAROM's priority. The company will resume operating flights to Tel Aviv as soon as operational conditions allow. Passengers with reservations on TAROM flights to/from Tel Aviv during the affected period will be informed directly and can opt for rebooking for a later date, after operations resume,' the cited document also states.

The airline operator Wizz Air also announced that it has suspended all flights to and from Israel, Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Amman, until March 7th inclusive, following the recent escalation of the security situation in Iran.

The United States and Israel launched attacks on Iran on Saturday morning, with Israel calling it a 'preemptive strike' against its declared enemy 'to eliminate threats.'

US President Donald Trump announced that the US had begun 'major military operations' against Iran and urged the Iranian people to 'take over' power, France Presse reports.AGERPRES (RO - writing by: Andreea Marinescu ;EN - writing by: Catalin Cristian Trandafir)
