Romanian Association of Online Stores expecting record Black Friday 2025 sales
Black Friday 2025 will continue the positive trend of e-commerce in Romania and will set new records in terms of the number of orders and their value, according to the Romanian Association of Online Stores (ARMO), which comes, at the same time, with a series of recommendations for consumers.
'Black Friday 2024 was an unprecedented success for e-commerce in Romania, with sales that exceeded estimates in both value and number of orders. For 2025, we expect a positive development with many opportunities for customers. Given the inflation prospects, these days Romanian consumers have the opportunity to buy many products at prices that they will probably not encounter any time soon. They can have a very successful event if they follow a few simple recommendations. Black Friday is no longer just a day of discounts, but an annual confirmation of the maturity of online commerce in Romania. We will continue to carefully monitor developments and support good practices to the benefit of consumers and the sector,' ARMO's executive director, Cristian Pelivan, says in a press statement.
At the same time, ARMO recommends consumers to pay attention to five essential aspects for a safe and good Black Friday 2025 experience.
Thus, it is necessary to check the sites before placing an order (visible contact details, terms and conditions displayed in a visible place), then to pay attention to the discounts (Black Friday discounts must be reported at the lowest price in the last 30 days).
Also, the shopping list must be prepared in advance to effectively take advantage of the desired offers, while the use of secure payment methods is another aspect to take into account, on which ARMO comes with a tip: 'Do not provide your data from cards on the phone, do not make payments to personal accounts by bank transfer.'
Last but not least, the return and warranty policy should be checked. According to the legislation, customers are entitled to return products purchased online within 14 days, even with extended periods in the case of some retailers.
According to the estimates of the association's members, consumers' interest in Black Friday discounts remains high, and online stores are preparing with competitive offers and improved logistics to ensure a fast and safe shopping experience.
Launched in 2010, the Romanian Association of Online Stores represents online stores in Romania and supports the interests of its members. The organisation is a member of Ecommerce Europe, the only voice of the European e-commerce sector, representing more than 150,000 companies through national associations.
