Imagine din galeria Agerpres

The anniversary edition of the Posada Rock Festival will take place from August 28 to 30 at the municipal stadium in Campulung Muscel.

Romania's oldest open-air rock festival is marking 40 years since its first edition, held in Campulung Muscel in 1986.

Over the three days of the festival, devoted fans will be treated to an exceptional line-up featuring major international names from several metal genres, including heavy metal, gothic metal, black metal, death metal and symphonic black metal.

Headliners include Dark Funeral (Sweden), Moonspell (Portugal), Soen (Sweden), Tiamat (Sweden), Carach Angren (the Netherlands), Massacre (US), Evil Invaders (Belgium) and Gra (Sweden).

Performances will also be given by Romanian bands Doomsday Astronaut, Fittonia and Shifting Sands, which have won awards at Posada Rock over the past 15 years.

The festival will also host its traditional competition for underground bands.

A specialist jury made up of well-known figures from the Romanian rock scene - Lenti Chiriac, Cristi Gram, Andy Ionescu, Mihai Ilie, Cristian Popescu, Vlad Busca, Bogdan Prundeanu, Denis Uta, Bogdan Trimbaciu and Razvan Braileanu - has selected the 10 finalists competing for prizes at the Posada rock arena.

Of the 55 bands that entered the pre-selection, the 10 underground bands taking part in the final of Romania's oldest and most prestigious rock competition are Al Ghehenii (Suceava/Dublin), Athoris (Arad), Dizident (Ploiesti), Exuviath (Bucharest), Grinder (Constanta), King Solomon (Bucharest), Reverse the Moment (Oradea), +She+ (Bucharest), Symphress (Cluj-Napoca) and Zgripsorum (Bucharest).

Following the jury's deliberations, the top five bands in the competition at Posada Rock 2026 will receive the following prizes: Grand Prize - 2,000 euros; First Prize - 1,000 euros; Second Prize - 500 euros; Third Prize - 300 euros; and the Zaharia Radulica Prize - 200 euros. Special prizes from the festival's partners will also be awarded.

In partnership with the Astra Museum in Sibiu, the festival grounds will also feature a large play area with educational workshops and recreational activities for children and young people attending the event in Campulung Muscel. The same partnership will include cultural and educational workshops exploring cultural identity and heritage, coordinated by Ciprian Stefan, including shingle-making, traditional wood-cutting and archaic gastronomy workshops.

The organisers will also provide a fully equipped camping area on the second field within the municipal stadium grounds in Campulung Muscel.

Passes and tickets can be purchased online and at the festival entrance, subject to availability.

Children aged up to 11 will have free admission, while those aged 12 and over must have a valid pass or ticket. Children under 14 may enter the festival grounds only when accompanied by a parent or legal guardian who holds a valid ticket or pass. A parent or legal guardian may accompany a maximum of two children. Persons with disabilities will be granted free admission following prior registration.

Pets are allowed provided they are not classified as belonging to a risk category under Government Emergency Ordinance 55/2002, are kept on a lead and do not disturb other spectators.

The festival prohibits the entry of weapons or other objects that may be considered dangerous; glass containers, flammable materials and laser pointers; umbrellas and clothing with cutting or piercing accessories; bicycles, skateboards, scooters and similar items (which may be left safely at the entrance); large flags and flagpoles; the sale of products on the festival grounds without the organisers' permission; the consumption or sale of prohibited substances, in accordance with the law; and the bringing of alcohol, other drinks or food from outside the festival area.

Posada Rock 2026, the festival's 40th anniversary edition, is organised by the Rock Culture Association in partnership with the Campulung Municipality and is a cultural project funded by the Ministry of Culture. AGERPRES (RO - writing by: Daniel Florea; EN - writing by: Simona Iacob)
