Bolojan: PNL parliamentary groups, mandated to support adoption of public sector pay bill

Image

The National Liberal Party (PNL) parliamentary groups have been mandated to support the adoption of the public sector pay bill, party leader and interim Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan announced on Friday.

At the end of a meeting of the party's Political Bureau, Bolojan said the PNL parliamentary groups had been mandated to support, during the extraordinary parliamentary session, a number of bills, including those concerning integrity, the hydrogen strategy and decarbonisation, and public sector pay.

'The public sector pay bill is a milestone under PNRR [the National Resilience and Recovery Plan]. (...) The public sector pay bill is important for Romania because it is a commitment made by our governments in previous years, which no one has challenged, (...) but it is also a measure that prevents the loss of more than 700 million euros,' the PNL leader stressed.

According to him, the public sector pay bill will introduce predictability in the field in the coming years and is also needed to correct inequalities. AGERPRES (RO - writing by: Catalina Matei; EN - writing by: Adina Panaitescu)
