Bucharest, Feb 7 /Agerpres/ - Representatives of the National Company for Road Infrastructure Administration (CNAIR) signed, in Chisinau on Friday, the contracts for the design of four new bridges over the Prut River, with a total value of 4.4 million lei (excluding VAT), announced General Director Cristian Pistol.

'We signed today in Chisinau (Republic of Moldova) the contracts for the design of four new bridges over the Prut River, with a total value of 4.4 million lei (excluding VAT): Stanca (Romania) - Costesti (Republic of Moldova) bridge, Bumbata (Romania) - Leova (Republic of Moldova) bridge, Falciu (Romania) - Leca (Republic of Moldova) bridge, Raducaneni (Romania) - Barbaceni (Republic of Moldova) bridge,' Pistol noted on Facebook.

The duration of each contract for the preparation of feasibility studies, signed between CNAIR and the company Like Consulting, is 12 months. The value of each contract is 1.1 million lei (excluding VAT), and the financing is provided by the Romanian state budget.

The four new bridges, which will be built after the completion of the feasibility studies, will increase the transport capacity between the two countries and will contribute to the connectivity of the road infrastructure of the Republic of Moldova with Romania and, implicitly, with the transport networks of the European Union. Additionally, the construction of these bridges will further contribute to the economic rapprochement of the Republic of Moldova with Romania and the European Union, wrote the head of CNAIR.

The event in Chisinau took place in the presence of the Secretary of State with the Romanian Ministry of Transport, Irinel Scriosteanu, and the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova, Vladimir Bolea. AGREPRES (Ro - writing by: Oana Tilica, EN - writing by: Adina Panaitescu)
