Double event dedicated to Photographic Art Day and National Culture Day, in Bucharest and Iasi
Bucharest, Jan 8 /Agerpres/ - A double event dedicated to the Photographic Art Day in Romania and National Culture Day, titled 'Fotogeografica [photogeography], an open window to the country', will be organized on January 11 and 15, respectively, in Bucharest and Iasi, by the Student Culture House in Bucharest and the George Enescu University of Arts in Iasi, informs a press release of the Student Culture House sent to AGERPRES on Wednesday.
According to the cited source, the retrospective Fotogeografica awards, editions I - XXVII, will be exhibited, and on January 15, at 14:30 pm, the awards and the catalog of the XXVIII edition will be presented at the Universitas Gallery of the National University of Arts George Enescu in Iasi.
'Nature, an inexhaustible source of inspiration for artists, offers an excellent framework for exploring the beauties of the environment captured by the lens of the camera, which becomes a tool for (re)connecting man with nature. I believe that the traveling exhibition Fotogeografica is an exceptional educational method and a genuine way of documenting, preserving and promoting traditions, culture and national values,' said art critic, scientific researcher Dr. Mirela Stefanescu, as quoted in the press release.
The event is dedicated to the Photographic Art Day in Romania, which is celebrated annually on January 11, as a tribute to the painter and photographer Carol Popp de Szathmáry, recognized as the first Romanian photographer and the first war photographer in the world. The exhibition also highlights National Culture Day, which is celebrated annually on January 15, with the aim of promoting culture, art and national heritage, the press release further reads.
