The string of events consists of public readings, art exhibitions, film screenings, musical recitals and literary debates, all aimed at promoting the Romanian language worldwide and at strengthening the cultural links between Romania and its diaspora communities.

Students of the Romanian language chairs at the University of Lódz and Warsaw, readers and professors will also attend.
The Accademia di Romania in Rome (ARR) offers the Italian public a series of short video interviews with some of the most active participants in the courses organized by ARR. On Romanian Language Day, the Romanian Cultural Institute will announce the winners of the essay, story and composition contest "I and Romania", themed "Romanian Language Is My Homeland". 59 children from 14 countries participated in the competition organized by the Romanian Cultural Institute between July 1 - August 10.
Romanian Language Day was officially established in Romania in 2013, and represents an opportunity to reflect on the cultural and historical value of the Romanian language. In the Republic of Moldova, Romanian Language Day was officially created in 1990, as an expression of the national revival and the return to Romanian cultural values, after the Soviet period during which the Romanian language was marginalized.
