Romania wins nine gold medals at European Rowing Under23 Championships

Romania won no less than nine gold medals at the European Rowing Under23 Championships in Edirne, Turkey, in the 11 finals A on Sunday.

Delia Mirabela Gradinaciuc, Iuliana Isabela Boldea, Estera Vilceanu, Larisa Bogdan, Rucsandra-Ioana Bucsa won the gold in Women's Coxed Four, timed 07:16.35, followed at a great distance by Italy (07:22.12)

In Men's Coxed Four, Romania registered a tighter victory through (Cristian-Vasile Nicoara, Ionut Pavel, Andrei Vatamaniuc, Sergiu Anfimov, Maria-Antonia Iancu), in 06:23.40, followed by Denmark (06:25.84).

Andrei Mandrila and Leontin Nutescu won the Men's Pair event, 06:36.63, ahead of Belarussian crew (06:37.99).

In Women's Pair final, Daria-Ioana Dinulescu and Georgiana Blanariu made a clear won in (07:24.39) ahead of Poland (07:34.12).

Beatrice Piseru, Denisa Cristina Ailincai, Petruta-Ionela Popa and Georgelia Stoica (06:52.92) won the gold in Women's Four, outrunning Poland (06:54.89).

Another comfortable victory was in Women's Double Sculls, through Andrada Maria Morosanu and Iulia Balauca (07:04.35), ahead of their rivals from Poland (07:10.78).

In Women's Quadruple Sculls as well Romania (Mariana-Laura Dumitru, Manuela-Gabriela Lungu, Emanuela Ioana Ciotau, Patricia Cires) (06:39.35) won ahead of Poland (06:41.27).

In Men's Eight, Romania (Costi-Daniel Neagoe, Andrei Hemen, Cristian-Vasile Nicoara, Ionut Pavel, Andrei Vatamaniuc, Sergiu Anfimov, Andrei Mandrila, Leontin Nutescu, Maria-Antonia Iancu) was three second faster (05:44.15) than Turkey (05:47.24).

In Women's Eight, Romania (Daria-Ioana Dinulescu, Andreea Nicoleta Dinu, Ana-Maria Matran, Larisa Bogdan, Delia Mirabela Gradinaciuc, Georgiana Blanariu, Estera Vilceanu, Elena-Diana Suta, Rucsandra-Ioana Bucsa) won by far (06:34.68) in front of Ukraine (06:46.15).

In Women's Single Sculls, Bianca Camelia Ifeni missed the bronze, ranking fourth (07:40.89), after the representatives of Switzerland (07:28.56), Russia (07:38.21) and Greece (07:39.00).

In Men's Four, Romania (Sebastian Timis, Andrei Hemen, Constantin Emanuele Sterea, Eduard Angel Moldovan) ranked last in Final A, sixth (06:20.49).

Antonel Avacaritei and Jan Andrei Bercea ranked fifth in Men's Double Sculls (06:44.42) and 11th in the general ranking.

In Men's Quadruple Sculls, Dragos Valentin Peia, Silviu-Marian Dumitriu, Stefan Bogdan Moales and Ilie Lucian Aparaschivei ended Final B on the sixth place (06:35.82) and 12th in the general ranking.

Constantin Alexandru Roiu won Men's Single Sculls Final C (07:22.27), ending 12th in the general ranking.
