Imagine din galeria Agerpres

More than 10,000 tourists and residents of Constanta participated, on Thursday, on the seafront of the Casino in Constanta, in the demonstrations on the occasion of the Day of the Romanian Navy, delighting the public, especially the children, with the firing of cannon salvos, the parade of ships and military helicopters.

In order to be able to get a seat near the Fleet Command, some people came to the seafront even two hours before the start of the festivities.

Present at the demonstrations, president Klaus Iohannis reviewed and greeted the honor guard. The Romanian flag was then raised on the flagpole in front of the Fleet Command, and the flag, jack and decorations were raised on board the military ships, simultaneously with the singing of the National Anthem of Romania and the firing of 21 cannon volleys.

After the speeches of the officials, a religious service followed, with the laying of flower anchors in the Black Sea water, in memory of the sailor heroes.

The god Neptune made his appearance on board the maritime sloop "Luceafarul" and started the seafaring games and contests, on the seafront in front of the Fleet Command.

The opening greeting of the assembled demonstration exercise was sent by the cadets on board the training ship "Mircea", and three paratroopers were launched from helicopters to present the Romanian, NATO and EU flags to the public on the quayside.

The joint naval exercise "Romanian Naval Forces 2024" included sequences from the training activities carried out by military sailors, such as the insertion of elements of research-diversion, the rejection of enemy aviation attack, the search and attack of enemy submarines, the rejection of maritime landings, the fight against illegal migration at sea and targeting a Puma Naval helicopter on board the "King Ferdinand" frigate.

The end of the exercise was marked by the parade of military ships and aircraft, sailing ships and civilian craft, and the honor guard paraded on the seafront of the Fleet Command, to the tunes of the Military Music of the Naval Forces.

On Thursday evening, from 20:00, the Military Music of the Naval Forces will delight the public with a mini-concert, on the seafront in front of the Fleet Command. The concert will be followed by the lighting of the electric Pavoaz at the military ships and the retreat with torches of the military sailors, on the route Porta 1 - Fleet Command center - Piata Ovidiu, where the musical group will give a concert.

The Day of the Romanian Navy will end with a fireworks show offered by the City Hall of Constanta, which can be watched from the Ovidiu Square - Tomis Tourist Port area.AGERPRES(RO - author: Nona Jalba, editor: George Onea; EN - editor: Catalin Cristian Trandafir)
