Gov't I lead has as main objective bringing money into country, budget and economy (PM)
Prime Minister Luca Niculescu stated on Monday, following a meeting with representatives of the business community, that the Government's primary objective is to bring funds into the state budget and the economy, without placing additional fiscal pressure on those who sustain economic activity.
'We must restart the engines of the economy and help those who create jobs, rather than stifling them with taxes and bureaucracy. Today, I had a very productive and focused dialogue with representatives of the Romanian business community: Concordia, the Confederation of Entrepreneurs and Investors in Romania, Romanian Business Leaders, the Association of Business People in Romania, and the National Confederation for Entrepreneurship and Small and Medium-sized Enterprises. It is essential that the state changes its approach toward both its citizens and the business sector. To restart the engines of the economy, investors need a government that acts as a fair partner, one that provides predictability, development tools, and stability; meets its financial obligations on time; supports strategic sectors; fosters innovation; and protects Romanian capital. It is equally important for the state to demonstrate its integrity by curbing waste, spending public funds more efficiently, combating tax evasion, and improving tax collection,' the Prime Minister stated in a Facebook post.
He also stressed the economic opportunities that Romania's accession to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) could bring.
'Romania is closer than ever to joining the OECD. This represents a significant opportunity for investment, access to capital, entry into foreign markets, and the adoption of modern technologies, as well as for the modernization of our institutions. In this spirit, we will maintain an ongoing dialogue with the business community, because together, the state and investors, we share a major objective: a better life for our people. Our young people need better-paying jobs, new opportunities, and the hope for a better life here at home, in Romania. Only by working together - the Romanian state, the business sector and society - can we build a better future for our nation,' stated Niculescu.
The Prime Minister thanked the representatives of the business community for all the proposals they presented to the government team during the meeting. In addition to the Prime Minister, the meeting was attended by: Marian Neacsu - Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Internal Affairs; Alexandru Nazare - Minister of Finance; Daniel-Catalin Zamfir - Minister of Economy, Digitalization, Entrepreneurship, and Tourism; Costinel-Bogdan Dumitru - Minister-Delegate for Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence; Dumitru Chisalira - Minister of Energy; Marcel-Alexandru Stoica - Minister of Development, Public Works, and Administration; Petre-Florin Manole - Minister of Labor, Family, Youth, and Social Solidarity; Luminita Odobescu - State Counselor, Prime Minister's Office; and Mihaela Stefan - State Secretary.
