The documentary exhibition 'Nadia Comaneci - The Road to Perfection', created by the National Archives of Romania and, in the version presented in Oradea, built around the number 73, will be open to visitors from September 16 until December, 2026, at the Museum of the Cris Rivers (MTC).

'For the Oradea presentation, the exhibition project was reconfigured around competition number 73, a historic reference associated with Nadia Comaneci's participation in the Montreal Olympic Games. At the same time, the sum of the two digits symbolically points to the perfect score: 7 + 3 = 10. This version was presented for the first time on August 11, 2026, in the foyer of the Regina Maria Theatre, as part of the ‘10 for Eternity' Gala, and subsequently in the Madach Imre Passage,' the MTC said in a press release.

The two exhibition formats are complementary stages of the same project: '1.00' identifies the Bucharest edition of the exhibition, while '73' is the version created for Oradea. Nadia's competition number at the 1976 Montreal Olympic Games, 73, also recalls the seven perfect 10s she received and the three gold medals she won. Together, these elements conceptually and visually recreate the image of the electronic scoreboard in Montreal and bring back to the public the moment when sporting perfection surpassed the limits of technology.

Through archival documents, photographs and contemporary accounts, the exhibition reconstructs Nadia Comaneci's exceptional career and one of the defining moments in the history of world sport.

According to the same source, the opening ceremony is scheduled for Wednesday, September 16, at the museum's premises at 1/A Armatei Romane Street. Speakers will include Gabriel Moisa, professor and manager of the MTC Oradea Museum Complex, and the exhibition's concept author, architect Maria-Alexandra Sas, PhD.

At the 1976 Montreal Olympic Games, Nadia Comaneci achieved the first perfect 10 in the history of Olympic gymnastics. However, the competition's electronic scoring system had not been configured to display a score of '10.00', so the scoreboard showed '1.00', alongside the gymnast's competition number, 73. The image became one of the best-known representations of sporting achievement and of the moment when excellence surpassed the limits of technology.

The first edition of the documentary exhibition was conceived and organised in Bucharest to mark 50 years since the first perfect 10 in the history of Olympic gymnastics, at the headquarters of the National Archives of Romania on Regina Elisabeta Boulevard.

Opened on July 16, 2026, it features the score '1.00' as its central visual element. The exhibition concept explores the contrast between the apparent error on the scoreboard and the perfection of Nadia Comaneci's performance, turning this 'error' into a symbol of achievement.
