Bucharest Chamber of Commerce and Industry opens Representation Office in New Delhi
The Bucharest Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIB) has opened a Representation Office in New Delhi, to be headed by Dan Pantea, the institution announced on Wednesday in a release.
The New Delhi office will ensure institutional representation in relations with central and local authorities, government and international organisations, local chambers of commerce, institutions relevant to the economic environment, as well as the international business community.
Attending the inauguration, CCIB president Iuliu Stocklosa said that the Chamber aims to provide entrepreneurs with the tools and connections needed to expand abroad: 'Our goal is to offer entrepreneurs the instruments and connections they need to expand beyond Romania's borders. At the same time, we aim to turn current challenges into concrete cooperation opportunities by strengthening lasting bridges between business communities. In the coming period, we plan to expand our presence in Japan and the People's Republic of China, as important steps toward consolidating and diversifying international economic relations.'
The mission of the New Delhi office is to promote the interests of Bucharest's business community and support bilateral economic cooperation by facilitating the internationalisation of Romanian companies, attracting investment and identifying new opportunities on external markets.
Dan Pantea, head of the New Delhi office, underlined the strategic potential created by the EU - India Free Trade Agreement: 'In the context of the EU - India Free Trade Agreement, Romania can become an important link between the European Union and India, especially in areas such as agriculture, pharmaceuticals, education and related sectors. The opening of CCIB representation offices reflects a shift in how international economic cooperation is structured. Romania and India have the opportunity to develop sustainable partnerships across multiple sectors, and we are ready for these demarches.'
