Parliament - Government investiture/Vestea: My intention is to unblock the country; 70 days left to complete PNRR

Image

Prime Minister-designate Adrian Vestea declared on Monday, in the reunified plenary session of Parliament, that he wants to unblock the situation Romania finds itself in, recalling that there are 70 days left until the completion of the PNRR projects.

'I responded in good faith, like any Romanian, to this challenge. My intention is to unblock the country, to respond to all the needs we face every day. We all know that there are 70 days left until the date on which we must close the PNRR. We have to take all the necessary steps to join the OECD. We have to operationalize the SAFE program, because we see what is happening from the point of view of national security and we have a lot of things to do,' said the designated prime minister, after the interventions of the parliamentary groups.

On the other hand, Vestea stated that among those who spoke from the plenary tribune were people with 'various frustrations' and who were defeated in Brasov.

'I come from public administration. Although I was president of the organization, I only had the chance to run as a single candidate, to get votes at the grassroots level. I see that there are people who have various frustrations, who were defeated in Brasov, but we move on. The important thing is to relate to Romania and the moments it is going through,' Adrian Vestea also said.

The Senate and the Chamber of Deputies met in a joint session on Monday evening to vote on the investiture of the government proposed by Prime Minister-designate Adrian Vestea.AGERPRES (RO - writing by: Irinela Visan, editing by: Marius Fratila;EN - writing by: Catalin Cristian Trandafir)
