National Liberal Party (PNL) leader Ilie Bolojan said that together with the Save Romania Union (USR) and the Hungarian Democratic Union of Romania (UDMR) partners, the Liberals have devised a 'honest, transparent, straightforward formula' for a solution for Romania, adding that he is proposing a pact for the country over the next six months to continue the policy lines adopted by the Government he led.

'The issue is Romania's solutions for forming a Government, because we need one in this crisis. I worked with the coalition parties and together with our partners the USR and the UDMR we devised an honest, transparent, straightforward formula to come up with a solution for Romania. I thank them for coming, even though I informed them very late last night, to greet us, and this proposal is transparent, it is correct and honest. We can do it, if indeed the national interest is not an empty phrase used only to gain power, a pact for Romania over the next six months, in which we clearly establish that we must keep deficits at a reasonable level,' Bolojan said at the PNL Congress on Sunday.

He said that any rational party understands that it must assume responsibility in government for all the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR) projects that have not yet been approved, so that Romania does not lose billions of euros, that it must act in the energy sector to bring prices down so that the economy becomes competitive, and that salaries can no longer be increased if productivity is not taken into account.

According to him, 'the terrible battle of these days is not necessarily about people, ideologies or economic visions' and is not about election campaigns, but a battle against 'lies,' 'between taking responsibility and running away from it, between respect and contempt for citizens.'
