Sibiu International Theatre Festival to have 848 events and over 5,000 artists
This year, the Sibiu International Theatre Festival (FITS) will bring together over 5,000 artists from 83 countries and will include 848 events, eight more than the previous edition, the festival's president, actor Constantin Chiriac, announced in a press conference on Thursday.
He presented on Thursday the complete program of the 33rd edition of the festival, which will take place between June 20-29 and has the theme 'SOUL'.
'We have 848 events, 8 more than last year. Despite all the challenges we have encountered this year, with huge price increases in all areas, with other economic difficulties worldwide, here we are, managing to increase the scale of this event from year to year,' said Constantin Chiriac, who is also the general director of the 'Radu Stanca' National Theatre in Sibiu.
The program available as of Thursday on the festival's official website includes, in addition to performances, special conferences, exhibitions, book launches, workshops, masterclasses, the Visual Arts Platform, the Performance Scholarship and the Doctoral Research Platform.
