PNL leader, Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan, announced on Wednesday that he had conveyed to the president of the European People's Party, Manfred Weber, that he continues to assume the responsibility of leading the Executive, to ensure responsible governance, the continuation of reforms and the correct use of public money.
'I had a very good discussion today with Mr. Manfred Weber, President of the European People's Party. I thanked him for his support and the good collaboration we have at the European level. We discussed the priorities for the coming period and the directions we have in mind, both at the national and European levels. I conveyed to Mr. Weber that I continue to assume the responsibility of leading the Executive, to ensure responsible governance, the continuation of reforms and the correct use of public money,' Bolojan wrote on Facebook.
He added that the priority remains the fulfillment of the PNRR milestones to ensure the absorption of European funds, to avoid the loss of these resources, on which important investments in infrastructure, health and education depend.
The President of the European People's Party (EPP), Manfred Weber, stated on Wednesday, in a post on social networks, after the telephone conversation with Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan, that the Social Democratic Party of Romania has unfortunately moved away from its pro-European commitments and now opposes the very measures it agreed to within the governing coalition.
