EANA, represented on new Digital Media Licensing Association board for 2026-2028 term
The Digital Media Licensing Association, based in New York, has elected its new board for 2026-2028 that will coordinate the digital content licensing industry.
The organisation, founded in 1951, represents the global content production, distribution and licensing industry and promotes copyright, ethical standards on the use of artificial intelligence and the interests of creators.
The DMLA board will also include Secretary General of the European Alliance of Press Agencies (EANA) Alexandru Giboi. He will represent EANA, a DMLA member, along with eight professionals from the US and Europe in the field of digital content licensing.
The new term of the DMLA board will begin in May 2026. The board plays a key role in setting industry priorities, educational programmes and initiatives that support the evolution of the digital media ecosystem.
Content licensing, the core business model for most content producers, is facing increasing disruption from AI and connected issues, the pace of change becomes faster and media professionals are called to constantly update, says Giboi, secretary general of EANA since 2018, now in his third three-year term.
He adds that the challenges faced by European and US news media and general content producers are mostly the same, and we need to stay united in facing them. expressing his support for the work of the Digital Media Licensing Association from the perspective of European news agencies, 'pillars of trustworthy content ', according to a press statement published by EANA on Thursday.
The Digital Media Licensing Association is an organisation with a history of 75 years that advocates for copyright, ethical AI, privacy rights, and the interests of creators and the companies that support them.
