Rethinking relations and establishing cooperation between the new Hungarian government and Hungarians abroad is inevitable, Deputy Prime Minister Tánczos Barna said on Monday, in a reaction to Péter Magyar's win in the neighbor country's parliamentary elections, whom he also congratulated.

He added that Fidesz is now in opposition, noting that 'this has happened before', with past defeats followed by a return to power, even if it took two electoral cycles.
'Time will tell whether this setback will be reversed. (...) Knowing the team, they will not give up. TISZA candidates achieved an 87% success rate in individual constituencies. Overall, a two-thirds victory is a possibility, but it also brings major responsibility for the new government. Rethinking relations with Hungarians abroad and establishing cooperation with the new government are inevitable. Today this is a little-known equation, but not an unsolvable one. Congratulations to everyone who feels they won yesterday. I encourage all my acquaintances and friends who feel disappointed or disillusioned to cheer up. Some 3.1 million Hungarians chose change, while 2.5 million would have continued with the previous government. This is democracy. The sun rose again today.
