Exhibition dedicated to young artists, organised in partnership with Margareta of Romania Royal Foundation
The Buzau County Museum, in partnership with the Margareta of Romania Royal Foundation, is organizing the opening of the exhibition called 'The aspiration to fly' ('Nazuinta de zbor'), dedicated to young artists of the 2026 generation, an event which coincides with the 130th anniversary of the inauguration of the former 'I. C. Bratianu' hospital building, now converted into a cultural centre.
According to organizers, the event gathers art works created by beneficiaries of the Young Talents scholarship programme run by the Margareta of Romania Royal Foundation and highlights the new generation's commitment to universal cultural values.
'The exhibition also marks the 130th anniversary of the inauguration of the former 'I. C. Bratianu' hospital building, on 14 April 1896, and brings back into focus the transformation of this edifice from a space intended for physical care into one dedicated to personal and cultural development. The project continues the outstanding collaboration with Ileana-Dana Marinescu, visual artist and mentor within the Young Talents programme of the Margareta of Romania Royal Foundation, a collaboration initiated on the occasion of the anniversary solo exhibition organised during the Night of Museums 2025 event at the Buzau County Museum,' museum representatives conveyed.
The opening will take place on 14 April at 17:00, on the eve of the 'World Art Day' in the exhibition space of the 'I. C. Bratianu' Museum Centre in the city of Buzau, in the attendance of the young artists and representatives of partner institutions.
'Within the event, at 18:00, young musicians, scholarship recipients of the Young Talents programme, class of 2026, will perform a classical music recital. The exhibition will be open to the public from 14 April to 14 May and can be visited from Tuesday to Sunday, between 09:00 - 17:00 until 30 April, and between 10:00 - 18:00 from 1 to 14 May,' the quoted source mentioned.
Public access will be free on the day of the opening.
The Margareta of Romania Royal Foundation was established in 1990 by Her Majesty Margareta, Custodian of the Romanian Crown, together with her father, King Michael. With 36 years of activity, the Margareta of Romania Royal Foundation supports children, young people and the elderly through sustainable initiatives based on the exchange of experience and values between generations.
