March - Romanian Literature Month in Rome; Dialogue between Mircea Cartarescu and Bruno Mazzoni
A series of conferences, debates and presentations dedicated to contemporary Romanian literature, featuring Mircea Cartarescu, Catalin Pavel, Matei Visniec, Tatiana Tibuleac and Ana Blandiana in dialogue with professor Bruno Mazzoni, will take place in Rome from March 3 to 30.
The first event is scheduled on Tuesday at Palazzo Valentini, where Mircea Cartarescu will enter into dialogue with professor Bruno Mazzoni. The discussion will explore the difference between human imagination - dreams, the subconscious, emotional memory - and algorithmic text production, in a debate on literature as a form of inner knowledge that cannot be fully simulated by artificial intelligence, according to information published on Monday by the Ministry of Culture on Facebook.
The programme also includes presentations by two voices from the Romanian diaspora in Italy - Liliana Nechita and Andreea Simionel - who will bring to the public's attention recent volumes published on the Italian book market, as well as stories inspired by the experience of the Romanian community in Italy.
Held under the title 'Romanian Literature in the Age of Artificial Intelligence', the events are organised by the Romanian Embassy in Italy, the Ministry of Culture and the Romanian National Library, in collaboration with Italian cultural partners, as part of the Romania-Italy Cultural Year 2026.
