AGERPRES special correspondent Cristian Lupascu reports: Ukrainian political analyst of Romanian origin Serhii Hackman believes that the conclusion of a peace treaty between Ukraine and the Russian Federation is far from materialising, given that the demands of the leader in Moscow, Vladimir Putin, are unacceptable.

He told AGERPRES that the proposal for Ukraine to cede territories that belong to it cannot be taken into account, as this would amount to the country's capitulation and also 'a capitulation of international law.'

'Everyone expects the war to end, but speaking frankly I do not really see the premises for this war to end, because the conditions imposed by the Russians to end the war are practically conditions of capitulation and this would mean not only the capitulation of Ukraine, it would mean the capitulation of international law. We would be returning to the earliest periods of humanity, when only the one who had a bigger club was right. Therefore, this is a problem not only for Ukraine but for the entire civilised world,' Hackman said.

In his opinion, without sanctions against Moscow, the Russian model of invading Ukraine could be replicated worldwide, which could lead to new flashpoints across the globe.

'If the invader is bribed (by being offered the entire territory of the Donbas region - ed. n.) instead of being punished, this means that these desires to invade another country will appear not only in his case but also in other countries around the world, which would mean that in practice we will have wars and more wars,' the Ukrainian political scientist of Romanian origin pointed out.
