Romania's Tourism Fair (TTR) offers up to 65pct discounts on holidays worldwide
The February edition of Romania's Tourism Fair (TTR) remains the most important meeting point for the industry, especially as in recent years it has evolved from a platform for selling holiday packages into a complex space for networking, themed conferences and business-to-business meetings, according to Traian Badulescu, spokesperson for the National Association of Travel Agencies (ANAT).
'The event is no longer just a sales platform for holiday packages, but, particularly after the pandemic, has become a comprehensive space for networking, themed conferences and B2B meetings. This is a global trend in the post-pandemic period,' Badulescu told AGERPRES on Thursday.
Alongside the physical fair, travel agencies are promoting special early booking offers, with additional discounts available exclusively during TTR, while some are organising their own online or in-agency fairs. Tourist interest is mainly focused on summer holidays, where discounts can reach up to 50%, averaging around 30% for destinations such as the Romanian and Bulgarian seaside, Greece, Turkey, Spain and Egypt.
'There is also growing demand for exotic destinations and tours in the Far East, Africa and Latin America, reflecting increasing interest among Romanians in diverse experiences, from cultural and themed tourism to adventure travel,' added Badulescu.
Industry representatives say the fair's inbound component should be strengthened by attracting foreign agents under hosted buyer programmes, as well as international journalists and communicators, in partnership with the relevant ministry and professional organisations.
Major Romanian tour operators are present with substantial promotions. Christian Tour is offering price guarantees and family-focused campaigns, including 'Children travel free' schemes and limited '1 euro holiday' packages (transport extra). BIBI Touroperator has launched spring offers with discounts of up to 55%, particularly for Romania's seaside, mountain and spa resorts, as well as themed tours such as an 11-day 'Grand Tour of Romania'.
Paralela45 is running its Travel Fest between February 11 and 17, both online and offline, marking the end of the early booking period and offering flexible payment terms and discounts on European and long-haul tours. Summer holiday accommodation discounts can reach 58%, with destinations including Antalya, Montenegro, Costa Brava and Kos.
Hello Holidays is promoting coach holidays and Greek destinations, with discounts of up to 65% for selected hotels, while IRI Travel has launched an online fair with 'Ultra Early Booking' discounts of up to 55% for the 2026 summer season.
Exact Travel is organising an online fair between 12 and 20 February, offering discounts of up to 500 euros per person for selected programmes, while expanding its portfolio with new destinations in the Middle East, Africa and North America, alongside group cruises.
According to internal data, over 70% of its clients choose Asian destinations, with Japan the most requested, followed by China, South Korea and Vietnam. Demand for cultural and historic destinations in the Far East and Africa is also on the rise, with most travellers booking well in advance.
