Over 250,000 spectators attended the anniversary edition of the Bucharest International Air Show & General Aviation Exhibition (BIAS 2025) last weekend, the organizers announced in a press release sent to AGERPRES on Saturday.

'During the three days of the show, more than 250,000 spectators experienced intense emotions at Baneasa Airport and Romaero, enjoying exceptional aerobatics, impressive technical demonstrations, and landmark moments in BIAS history. BIAS is not just an air show; it has become a platform for promoting Romania and its capital. The enthusiasm of the spectators, the flawless organization, and the warm atmosphere impressed the participating teams, many of which have already expressed their intention to return to Bucharest. Reactions from international visitors have been particularly praiseworthy,' the release reads.

According to the cited source, the Patrouille de France, the emblematic team of the French Air Force and one of the most acclaimed aerobatic teams in the world, was the true star of this edition.

'With a perfectly synchronized flight, where the elegance of the maneuvers blended with mathematical precision, the French pilots painted the skies of Bucharest in the shades of their national tricolor, eliciting rounds of applause and ovations. Their performance was described by spectators as 'fascinating' and 'memorable,' once again confirming the international prestige of the event. The Romanian Air Force delivered a demonstration of strength and professionalism that elevated emotions to historic levels. During the official opening, 18 F-16 Fighting Falcon aircraft crossed the capital's skies in an impressive formation. The demonstration flights by Romanian pilots highlighted their mastery at the controls, courage, and precision, confirming the spectacular evolution of the Air Force and strengthening the public's confidence in domestic aviation excellence,' the organizers emphasized.

In addition, the German Air Force, flying Eurofighter Typhoons, impressed the audience with the power, agility, and precision of their demonstrations, while the Austrian Flying Bulls delighted spectators with one of the most extensive historic fleets ever brought to BIAS: the legendary Douglas DC-6, the iconic Mustang P-51D, the rare P-38 Lightning, the sturdy F4U Corsair, and the agile BO-105 C aerobatic helicopter.

Adding to this was the MiG-15, an emblematic aircraft from the early jet age, which evoked both nostalgia and admiration. Together, these performances offered the audience a unique experience, where aviation history spectacularly met the adrenaline of the present.

'Also present were the teams that bring color and variety to the show: the Romanian Aeroclub with Hawks of Romania (4 x Extra 330), Solo Fox Display Extra 330, White Wings (gliding), and Blue Wings (parachuting), alongside TAROM, Iacarii Acrobati, Jurgis Kairys, Wizz Air, as well as international teams such as the Flying Dragons Team (Poland) and Baltic Bees Jet Team (Latvia), delivering the perfect combination of aerobatics, precision, and visual spectacle. The pyrotechnic effects and evening fireworks delighted the audience! The public rewarded every moment with prolonged applause, confirming the special connection that forms between spectators and the flight teams at BIAS. The atmosphere at Baneasa Airport was electrifying, reminiscent of major international air shows,' the organizers conveyed.

Other key figures from BIAS 2025 include: participation of over 200 civil and military aircraft; more than 200 pilots and parachutists from Romania and abroad; over 700 civil and military professionals (pilots, flight leaders, parachutists, technical teams, air traffic controllers, aviation safety inspectors, aircraft ground handling, technical and logistics personnel, fuel supply, accommodation for participants, etc.); 26.9 million media audience; over 1,100 media appearances; over seven million social media views; 200,000 direct interactions with the public; 700 accredited spotters, including international; 350 accredited journalists, from Romania and abroad.

BIAS is organized by the Bucharest National Airports Company (CNAB), the Romanian Air Force, the Romanian Aeroclub, ROMATSA, Romaero, and the AIBO Sports Club.
